What is The Introduction?

Since the beginning, couples have met through family and friends, and in many cultures, through a professional matchmaker. The Introduction builds on that tradition by creating a platform for friends and family to matchmake their loved ones as well as singles to be matchmade by a trusted person.

We're starting with Christian singles in Houston, Texas—but our vision is bigger. We believe matchmaking should be accessible, affordable, and rooted in real community.

How It Works

The Introduction has two core roles: Matchmakers and Singles. You can be one, both, or switch between them depending on what you need.

For Matchmakers

A Matchmaker is someone motivated to set up someone they love. You could be a mom wanting to help your son find a wife, a sister looking out for her brother, or a best friend who believes in your person.

Here's what you do:

  1. 1Sign up and tell us about your single. Share their values, what matters to them, what they're looking for in a partner.
  2. 2Receive weekly matches. Every Monday, we send you 5 potential matches from our network of Christian singles in Houston.
  3. 3Chat to explore compatibility. You can message the potential match directly, chat with their matchmaker, or reach out to our team. Ask questions. Get a sense of whether this could work.
  4. 4Tell your single about promising matches. When you find someone interesting, share their details with your single. If your single is interested, you let the potential match know.
  5. 5Facilitate the connection. If there's mutual interest, the man decides how to proceed—text, call, or we can coordinate an in-person introduction at a coffee shop.
  6. 6Stay connected. We're here to support you. Chat with us anytime if you need guidance, want feedback, or have questions about a potential match.

You have backup. A whole network of matchmakers working toward the same goal.

For Singles

A Single is someone looking to be introduced to potential partners by people who know what they're looking for. You could be a woman wanting to meet someone serious about marriage, a man tired of dating apps, or someone who believes the best introductions come from people who care.

There are two ways to participate as a Single:

Active Single

You're actively involved in your own matchmaking.

  1. 1Sign up and tell us about yourself. Share your values, what matters to you, what you're looking for in a partner.
  2. 2Receive weekly matches. Every Monday, we send you 5 potential matches from our network.
  3. 3Review and engage. Each intro comes with a matchmaker's real endorsement—whether that's a friend, family member, or our team. If someone interests you, let us know.
  4. 4Connect when there's mutual interest. Once both sides are interested, the man decides how to proceed—text, call, or we'll schedule a coffee date.
  5. 5Work with your matchmaker (if you have one). If you have a friend or family member matchmaking for you, they'll be working alongside you. You'll both receive matches, and you can decide together who to engage with.

You have agency. You decide who to engage with, how to proceed, and when you're ready to take the next step.

Passive Single

You're being matched on your behalf by someone who knows you, believes in you, and wants to see you married.

  1. 1Your matchmaker signs up for you. They tell us about you—your values, what you're looking for, what matters to you.
  2. 2Your matchmaker receives weekly matches. They review potential partners and chat with anyone they think would be a good fit.
  3. 3You're introduced when there's real interest. Your matchmaker only brings you matches they've already vetted. You don't see the full pool—just the people your matchmaker believes are right for you.
  4. 4Join the platform to communicate. Once you and a match are both interested, you'll join the platform to message, call, or schedule a coffee date.

You don't have to search. Your matchmaker is handling the heavy lifting because they're invested in your future.

How We Match

Every Monday, you receive 5 potential matches. These aren't random. They're hand-selected based on:

  • Your values and what you're looking for
  • Compatibility with your faith, life stage, and goals
  • Community endorsements from matchmakers in our network

Matchmakers can chat directly with potential matches. This is where the magic happens. You're not just looking at a profile—you're having real conversations to see if there's genuine compatibility.

When there's mutual interest, we facilitate the connection. Whether that's forwarding contact info, setting up a coffee date, or helping coordinate the first meeting.

What Makes Us Different

We're Not a Dating App

You're not swiping through strangers. You're being introduced by people who actually know what they're doing and care about outcomes.

We're Community-Based

We're starting with Christian singles in Houston because strong communities produce strong matches. Our members are connected through churches, shared values, and real relationships.

We're Affordable

Traditional matchmaking costs $10,000 to $30,000 per year. We're building a model that's accessible to everyone—because finding a spouse shouldn't be a luxury.

We're Outcome-Focused

We care about marriages, not just matches. Our model is designed around real outcomes: committed relationships that lead to lifelong partnerships.

How We're Starting: The Houston Pilot

We're beginning with Christian singles in Houston, Texas. We're partnering with churches across the city to build a network of singles and matchmakers who are serious about marriage.

Here's what's happening:

  1. 1Church Partnerships: We're working with singles ministry leaders, pastors, and young adult leaders to spread the word about The Introduction. These partnerships help us reach quality singles quickly.
  2. 2Building the Network: We're onboarding singles and matchmakers from across Houston—people who share values, attend church, and are intentional about finding a spouse.
  3. 3First Cohort (MVP): Once we have 10 matchmakers, 20 men, and 20 women, we'll begin matchmaking. This first cohort will test the model for 30 days.
  4. 4Learning and Iterating: After the pilot, we'll gather feedback, refine the process, and either run another cohort or roll users into a full mobile app.

You don't have to attend the same church to participate. Our church partnerships are simply a way to reach intentional Christian singles quickly. Once you're in the network, you'll be matched with people from across Houston who share your values.

FAQ

No. Our church partnerships help us reach quality Christian singles quickly, but you don't have to be a member of a specific church to join. You just need to be a Christian single in Houston who's serious about marriage.

Right now, it's free. We're piloting the model with our first cohort. Once we launch the full platform, we'll introduce affordable pricing tiers.

That's okay. You can sign up as a single, and our team will matchmake for you. You'll still receive weekly matches and can engage with potential partners just like everyone else.

Absolutely. Many people join as both—they're looking for themselves while also helping a loved one.

Every person in our network is referred by a matchmaker or our team. We're not a swipe-based app where anyone can join. Our members are vetted, Christian, and serious about marriage.

We'll gather feedback, refine the process, and either run another cohort or transition users to our full platform. Either way, you'll stay connected with your matches and continue building relationships.

Sign up for our waitlist or follow us on social media. We'll keep you posted on launch dates, new features, and success stories.
